I'm an Assistant Professor of Film and Digital Media in the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Texas at Dallas. In my current research, I am attempting to answer questions about how traditional and new media elicit emotions and why different media tend to elicit different kinds of emotions. My approach combines media theory, psychology, aesthetics, and theories of embodiment to propose a model of emotion that I use to analyze individual artworks, such as films and videogames. I also have interests in a number of other topics, including documentary film, Asian film, and video/media production. My CV is here. |
